It's been a couple weeks since my last post, so here's a rambling update.

I just gave the cats a three day de-worming treatment with Valbazen. Not because I saw symptoms, but I think that it's a safe assumption that they have parasites. They didn't like the Valbazen on their food, but eventually ate it anyway. It worked best when I mashed up some canned food and blended it in with a fork. Dosing is not specific with each cat, but for a group of feral cats a general dose of pretty much enough works for me.

I was away for a week. The neighbors to the east fed the cul de sac cats while I was gone and my wife fed the rest. To make it easier we moved the feeding area from the spring, which is down a hill that is slippery when temperatures are freezing, to the holly bush about ten yards from our gate. That new area is working well, so I'm continuing feeding there now. The only cat that I have not seen at the new location is Callie. I'll watch for her this weekend to see if she is still present.

Thomas ventures into my garage now while I am working on cars and Bobbie expects to be fed in her own bowl on my back patio now (so of course I comply). Smokey and Bobbie spend a lot of time together. They make it difficult for me to walk from the back door to the cul de sac, rubbing on my ankles and shins. It's hard not to trip or step on them. These are not feral cats anymore.
