With the rain and a little shift in my feeding times, the cats seemed a little more frantic this morning. Anita showed up at the cul de sac for the first time and was rubbing on my ankle as I put the food out. When the food was down she went straight to the bowl that Bobbie was eating from and they ate together well.

There were at least five of the white cats between the back gate and the spring as I walked down. It was too dark to identify who was who, but they all quickly moved ahead of me to the feeding area. I went to the spring first and they - more than ten cats - boiled around me circling and darting about. Callie and Minnie came right to the bowls as I put them down. All of the food from the previous feeding was gone and the bowls all had about a half inch of rain water in them. I'm going to adjust and put out more food to meet the current population's needs.

Thomas had walked beside me from the back gate to the spring and 'assisted me' in putting the food out. He's a fat cat, but he usually doesn't gorge at one bowl. He likes to check each bowl, then move along to the next like a wine taster checking through various samples.
